Natural or Organic Search Engine Optimization

By Keyur Parmar
"Organic" or "Natural" search engine optimization (SEO) is accomplished by optimizing your web pages and by increasing your link popularity by acquiring links pointing to your web site. These "in-bound" links are critical for achieving high rankings at the Search Engines for your chosen search terms.

Organic search optimization focuses on developing web sites that are naturally search engine friendly and appear in the unpaid or "organic" search engine results pages. (SERPS)

Successful organic optimization combines technical know-how with persuasive marketing. Organically optimized web sites contain content that visitors find informative and relevant to their searches.

One of the most important components of Organic Optimization is making sure that each page of a website consists of specific keywords. This is usually done by providing content such as articles or blog entries which contain these specific words.

The optimization process begins with a careful evaluation of the site for which the optimization is made and of the sites from the same category. These sites help very much a specialist during the optimization process.

There are many elements needed to be managed and tweaked in order to make a website fully optimized for search engines. Among these are:

• Linking strategy – There are site owners who think that inserting links to other websites is self defeating as it will drive traffic away from the site. But in actuality it is very important because these links help your website acquire a reputation for being an expert in the fields or subjects common to the sites.

• Keyword optimization – Content will not be as effective if it is not embedded with the relevant keywords for the website. Keyword optimization is considered by many as a cornerstone of all the other search engine optimization processes and methods.

Organic optimization is holistic in approach. Every aspect of a web site is analyzed for its level of search friendliness. Aspects like the site's title, meta-tags, editorial copy, structure and design, usability and function are all taken into consideration. These aspects and many others are equally considered when optimizing a web site.

Web optimization can bring fantastic results which can increase even ten times your number of visitors and clients but also can 'destroy' your business because it can affect the visibility of your site on the internet.

Another very important aspect of organic SEO is the process of link building. Simply put, the definition of link building is the act of acquiring inbound links to your site from other websites. Link building is accomplished in quite a few ways. One of the ways to build links is to join link exchange groups where you can offer your website link in exchange for someone else's.

The biggest weakness of natural search engine optimization is the time required to generate links and "tweak" your web pages and keywords to get those prized high rankings you so desire. For the more competitive keywords, it can literally take 3 months or more to start realizing the benefits of your search engine optimization campaign. For less competitive keywords, you can see the benefits in just a couple weeks.
