Simple But Effective Tips For List Building

By Dave Das
Building a mailing list should be one of your priorities as an Internet marketer. It enables you to follow up on offers closely as many prospective buyers needs time to consider before making a purchase especially if it involves a costly product. Here are some tips to help you build a huge mailing list.

1. Name Squeeze Pages – This type of pages are specifically built to capture your visitor’s name and e-mail address. They are basically only simple pages with a subscription box and an offer or freebie available normally in the form of an e-book or downloadable software. This method is one of the popular choices because it is easy to implement.

2. E-zine Directories – Submit to as many e-zine directories as possible. There are paid and free ones available in the Internet. It is good to have a mixture of both to maximize your e-zine exposure to readers. Look thru the search engines and find one that is within your budget.

3. Relevant Content – Ensure that your content is relevant as this encourages your subscribers to stay and if they like what they read they might even recommend your newsletter or e-zine to their family and friends. This will help you build your list automatically. Relevant content equals satisfied long term subscribers.

4. Ads Exchange – Contact other newsletter or e-zine and propose for an ad exchange. Make sure your mailing list subscribers and his are more or less of equal size else it would be a one sided deal. Scan through the e-zine providers in the Internet and choose one of the same niche.

5. Sales Letter – Write a sales letter as if you are going to sell something but at the bottom of it is only a subscription box to your mailing list. Bring up the benefits of your newsletter and present it as if it were a product to sell. You will be actually selling something, which is your newsletter at no cost.

6. Affiliate Program – You can start an affiliate program for the purpose of promoting your newsletter. Create an e-book and plug in a link to your subscription page. Get affiliates to sell your e-book and offer very high commissions to them. Once you have a sized-up list you can always make more income in your next mailing.

7. Viral E-Books – Distribute your viral e-book to the masses. Encourage recipients to pass on the e-book for free and state clearly in the e-book that it comes with giveaway rights. Make sure you include a link to your subscription box in the viral e-book or else you will lose the benefit of viral e-book marketing.

8. Blogs – Create a weblog of your niche and place a subscription box at the top. Write blogs on your niche and post daily at first if possible. Submit your weblog to blog directories and social bookmarking services. Join a few blog communities and participate in feedback or comments to show your authority in your niche.
